Did you know that there are 535,569 High School boy's basketball players in the United States and 31,863 eventually compete in college. This means that 5.9% of high school male athletes currently go on to play at the D1, D2, NAIA, NJCAA level. On the female side, there are 436,100 high school girl's basketball players and 28.002 of them that will go on to play in college. The female athletes have a slighter higher percentage than the males at 6.3% of high school girls that advance to the college ranks.
The question then becomes, "What do the 5.9% of boys and 6.3% of girls do to reach the college ranks?" Do they do the same thing that the other 93%-94% do? The simple answer is NO!
Do a lot of players play AAU? - Yes
Do all of these players play high school- Yes
Are some of them 7 feet tall?- A few
What's the key difference? -SKILL WORK SKILL WORK SKILL WORK...and Working on your body in the weight room!!!
Nets on Fire as a company understands that you simply cannot be everything to everyone. We are not for the 93%-94% of the masses. We are for the players who believe in and honor 100% TRUE GAME. We exist to help the less than 10% of middle school, high school, college, and pro players who ACTUALLY WORK ON SKILL WORK. While I believe there is no substitute for strength and am a strong proponent of a player "looking college ready" physique wise, but the greatest separator for players is in their skill work. IGNITED is the skill training program for those players who want to become the best. IGNITED is not a 4 day camp that you forget most of what you were taught, or worse yet, only play pickup games and get a cheesy t-shirt. IGNITED is a lifestyle, its a daily choice that shapes who you are and how you play this great game of basketball.
The only question I have is whether or not you want to be in the 5.9%-6.3% who advance to college, or whether you will follow the sheep who don't get it and wonder why they don't make it. Stop waiting, leave your excuses at the door, I guarantee you that you can find 25 mins a day to change your future, so let's get to work!!
